About Us

Benin, Bhutan and Costa Rica entered into a partnership through the South-South Cooperation Programme for Sustainable Development, with the financial support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This initiative was established in 2002 based on the principles of equality, reciprocity and participation of all societal stakeholders.

PSSC took part in the Partnerships Forum

During Rio+20 PSSC took part the Partnerships Forum. This Forum consisted of ¨highly dynamic and interactive sessions to highlight the significant contributions of partnerships to the implementation of sustainable development¨. The Partners in South-South Cooperation (PSC) partnership between Costa Rica, Benin, and Bhutan has proven a clear example of the value of partnerships in the implementation of sustainable development, with the PSC winning the UNDP South-South Cooperation Award in 2010.

The schedule for the Partnerships Forum included 5 different sessions spread over 3 days and PSSC was looking forward to participating in the sessions and learning from the other partnerships. Programme for South-South Cooperation Benin, Bhutan and Costa Rica participated at a session of the Partnerships Forum at Rio+20 entitled Speed Brokering for Partnerships: scaling-up and replicating best practices in sustainable development.
