About Us

Benin, Bhutan and Costa Rica entered into a partnership through the South-South Cooperation Programme for Sustainable Development, with the financial support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This initiative was established in 2002 based on the principles of equality, reciprocity and participation of all societal stakeholders.

Within the framework of partners in South-South Cooperation, funded by the Government of the Netherlands and managed by FundecooperaciĆ³n for Sustainable Development, the National Biodiversity Institute of Costa Rica (INBio) was able to conduct two collaboration projects in Benin and Bhutan, with institutions related to conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, between 2008 and 2010. This project received the South-South Cooperation Award for Partnership during the Global South-South Development Expo (GSSD Expo).
